The starting point of the exhibition is a binder with architectural drawings presented in an installation with images, historical archive material and objects intertwined based on ideas about ideology, freedom, dreams, utopias, and reality.
The drawings represent the house that my parents and relatives once started building in 1967 in the former Yugoslavia, now Montenegro the house which was never completed lacks a floor, according to the drawings, as evidenced by the bent reinforcement bars on the roof. A photograph, from 1998 reworked 2022–24 where in a self-portrait as a nurse I wear my aunt's examination gown, in the new image details from floor plans have been added.
The exhibition explores identity at the intersection between exile, migration, and assimilation where a sense of a lost now is constantly reminded. The title of the exhibition DOM has various meanings in different languages, including Swedish. However, in Serbian it means home.
